McTeacher Night @ McDonald’s

Do you enjoy eating at McDonald’s? Here is another great reason to go! McDonald’s is sponsoring McTeacher Night TONIGHT, April 17th. Enjoy a FAMILY NIGHT OUT at McDonald’s and help raise funds for Olentangy Meadows! The teachers and staff will be working at McDonald’s for the evening. Place your food order with… your favorite teacher or staff member!

When: Tuesday, April 17th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Where: McDonald’s located at 50 Meadowpark Ave. in Lewis Center (St. Rte. 23 by Walmart)

What: 15% OF ALL SALES and 100% OF ALL TIPS (in the tip jars) between 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. will be donated to our school by McDonald’s!! This includes drive thru window sales, so if you’re too busy to come in for the fun, you can always pick up dinner to go!

Logo Wear

Logo Wear orders are due this Thursday, April 12. Order forms went home with all students and were also in Kindergarten registration packets. This will be the last order placed for the school year. Thank you!

Evening with the Arts/Pasta Dinner

Just a reminder that our Evening with the Arts/Pasta Dinner will be Thursday, May 3rd not Thursday, April 12th. There has been some confusion with the date due to an old PTO calendar. Thank you for your understanding!

April 11th Meeting

On Wednesday, April 11th. from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. you are invited to meet the finalists for the Olentangy Meadows Principal Position.   Finalists will be making two presentations, one to a group of staff members and a second to a group of OMES PTO parents.  The presentations will be approximately 30 minutes in length with 15 minutes to complete a feedback form.  There will be a 15 minute break prior to the next presentation.

 We will be looking for general feedback related to the five Ohio Standards for Principals listed in bold below.  The benchmarks or indicators for the standards are listed beneath the standards.   We will instruct the finalists to design their presentations to address how they will meet the expectations of the staff, students, and parents related to the these standards.

 Standard #1     Principals help create a shared vision and clear goals for their schools and ensure continuous progress toward achieving the goals.

Principals lead the process of setting, monitoring and achieving specific and challenging goals that reflect high expectations for all students and staff.

Principals lead the change process for continuous improvement.

Principals anticipate, monitor and respond to educational developments that affect school

 Standard #2     Principals support the implementation of high-quality standards based instruction that results in higher levels of achievement for all students.

The GRADE that raises the most total money for One for Books wins FREE OPEN SEATING every Friday in March for lunch. The CLASS that raises the most money in each grade level gets to a pick a special for one day: PJ day, Hat day, Mix and Match day AND gets to go first on Friday for lunch for the month of March!

All funds raised toes to the One for Books program that puts books directly in the hands of kids in need, right here at OMES.

Family Fun Day February 20th

WHO: Olentangy elementary students, their families and friends, and teachers!

WHAT: Water park fun for all ages! Amazing slides, lazy river, interactive fun tower of fun, & much more! Separate shallow play areas including small slides & more for the little ones (adult supervision required).

Directions: I-71 to I-70 East, I-&70 to Hamilton Road South, cross over Hamilton Road at end of exit ramp (appearing to merge onto I-70 East), turn right on Truro Station Drive, turn left on Hilton Corporate Drive. COST: Just $12 each (reg. $24)! Ages 3 and under are free!

FOOD: Food & snacks are available for purchase at the waterpark.
